Jeff Mascaro is no stranger to reinvention—or to telling it like it is. With more than two decades of experience in business development, sales, and digital marketing, he’s partnered with over a thousand businesses to help them grow through smarter strategies, sharper messaging, and a whole lot of persistence. From early days in TV and print advertising to running his own creative agency, Jeff has built a career on connecting with people, understanding what they need, and delivering results that matter.
A Philadelphia native, Jeff has worn plenty of hats: account executive, sales strategist, digital marketing consultant, and founder of Golden East Creative. He’s led campaigns that boosted conversion rates by 75%, spearheaded CRM implementations, and delivered sales increases in record time. But ask him, and he’ll tell you his favorite title is the one that can’t fit on a résumé: husband to Erica, co-conspirator in questionable life choices, and storyteller on This Might Be a Bad Idea.
In 2025, Jeff and Erica packed up their life in Pennsylvania—six suitcases, one cat, and zero clear plan—and started over in Mérida, Mexico. Now, he shares the highs, lows, and hilarious in-betweens of expat life on the podcast. Jeff’s style is sarcastic, witty, and sometimes skeptical, balancing Erica’s big-picture energy with his own grounded humor. Together, they turn their everyday chaos into stories listeners can laugh at, learn from, and maybe even relate to.
When he’s not podcasting or brainstorming the next big marketing idea, Jeff serves as a board member for Steven’s Wings: Global Youth Adventures, helping drive awareness and fundraising so underserved youth can experience the life-changing power of travel.
