When we started walking around our neighborhood in Mérida, one thing immediately stood out — the walls.
Many homes have high perimeter walls, barbed wire, security cameras, and metal gates.
But the surprising part is that MĂ©rida is widely known as one of the safest cities in Mexico, with a strong sense of community and a relaxed lifestyle.
Still… if you try climbing one of those walls…
